Why do we like new beginnings so much?
At the beginning of each new year, there is this universal energy and conversation that inspires us to reinvent ourselves, improve, change, plan for better-more-greater-awesomeness.
At the beginning of each new day, morning dawns with thoughts and plans of what will be accomplished, our to-do list often the first thing we think of as our feet hit the floor.
The beginning of the week, regardless of what day we decide that might be, is also another form of new beginnings.
All of these bring their own level of hope and expectation. It is that hope and expectation that I think we connect with, that we sometimes cling to as we move forward in our life.
Sometimes, I crawl back into bed in the middle of the day or after a terrible morning to feel that “do over” again.
Other times, I think about how my day/week/year is ending and what I want to be different in the next one.
The real point, for me, is that I HAVE THE POWER.
New beginnings allow me to feel my personal power. I like to be in my place of power, to work from it.
I am EMPOWERED.
That’s what new beginnings mean to me, the hope I have as I step into my own power.
What about you? What’s the concept of “new beginnings” hold for you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Comment below.
